The following procedure was followed to add a DATACLAS to the SMS environment supplied with the Z/OS 1.3 ADCD system.

1. Logon as a priviledged user.
2. Navigate to ISMF - Option M.2 from the Primary Option Menu.
3. Take Option 0 - ISMF Settings.
4. Take Option 0 - User Mode Selection.
5. Type 2 next to USER MODE to indicate Storage Administrator Authority.
6. Return to ISMF Primary Option Menu.
7. Take Option 4 - Data Class
8. On the DATA CLASS APPLICATION SELECTION Panel set CDS name to 'SYS1.SCDS'. type the new class below the CDS name, and type 3 as the selection option.
9. Complete the details as required for the DATACLAS on the panels as they are presented.
10. When complete, implementation is effected by entering the z/OS operator command

    SETSMS SCDS(SYS1.SCDS)
